About This Activity

PCLS will host their inaugural Race For Literacy 5k/10k walk/run, and Kids 1 mile Fun Run on Saturday, March 12th, 2016.  5K/10K will start at 8 a.m. and Fun Run will start at 10:30 a.m.  Awards for Runners and Walkers will go 3 deep, divided into male/female divisions and subdivided into the following age groups: 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+. *If you plan to run any amount of the race, you must register as a "runner"

All Children who finish the Fun Run will receive awards.

Same Day Registration available starting at 7 a.m.  until 7:45 a.m.

Early packet pick-up will be available March 10th and 11th at the Russellville Public Library from 8:30 a.m. till 7:30 p.m. Packets will also be available the morning of the race between 7-7:45 a.m.

T-shirts are ONLY guaranteed if you are pre-registered by February 29th at midnight. After that date, t-shirts are subject to availability. Virtual Runners will also receive a t-shirt in the same manner as stated above.

 Water stations will be available throughout the course. Refreshments will be available following the race.

Storybook Costumes will be highly encouraged, but not required.  We will have awards for the best Storybook Costumes.  Costumes will be judged in the following groups: Children (6-UNDER, 7-9, 10-12)  Teens (13-16, 17-19) Adults: 20+

PCLS Race for Literacy is hosted by the Pope County Library Foundation and all proceeds go to the Pope County Library System for programming and books.
