About This Activity

This will be the 13th year that the Russellville Kiwanis Club has hosted this event in conjunction with the Franklin County Watermelon Festival. The ride consist of a 35 mile  and 65 mile ride to accommodate novice and experienced riders. The courses are laid out throughout the scenic foothills of Franklin County, Alabama and include the challenging ascent of Colburn Mountain. Many riders return year after year to take part in this event.

Event schedule and times

Registration will begin at 6:30 am the morning of August 9th and the ride will begin at 7:00am.

Parking is available at the Russellville High School Auditorium located adjacent to the baseball field and easily accessed from Summit St.

Course maps will be available at registration.

Rest stops will be set up along each course and provide drinks and snacks.

Each participant will receive a t-shirt and lunch will be provided following the event.

The Franklin County Rescue Squad will provide escorts for both courses.

A Fun Ride will be held the same morning that will be available to children 12 and under. The Fun Ride will be held on the Russellville High School Campus. Additional details can be requested by email.
