About This Activity

In 2006, Jamon Holley was diagnosed with a rare form of Glomerulonephritis, a kidney disease with no known cure. Doctors don’t know why he developed this disease but because of it, he lives with dangerously high blood pressure making him susceptible to heart attack and stroke, as well as swelling, infections and severe fatigue just to name a few. The costs associated with treating this disease have been many. Now that Jamon has reached stage 5 kidney failure, his medical costs are increasing and will continue to do so.

In August of 2016, Jamon was officially placed on the active transplant list and will need a kidney transplant. This procedure will cost around $250,000 and the medications Jamon will have to be on for the rest of his life will cost thousands monthly. Jamon lives alone and will be away from work for several weeks as he recovers from surgery and has no source of a secondary income. Even with insurance, there are many out-of-pocket expenses associated with a kidney transplant and Jamon will need the help and assistance from family, friends and the community to make this procedure possible and save his life. Jamon’s brother, Joel Holley, who has worked and served in the real estate industry for nearly 20 years, is currently undergoing testing to be Jamon’s kidney donor. Please consider Jamon as a worthy candidate for the 5K charity run this year to help relieve some of the financial burden that will be brought upon him from this costly procedure.
