About This Activity

 The first annual Run for Wild and Scenic takes place along the eligible section of East Rosebud Creek designated for Wild and Scenic Protection.It begins where the road ends into the mountains at the point  East Rosebud Flows out of East Rosebud Lake and into the beautiful East Rosebud Valley. This run is sponsored by Friends of East Rosebud a Montana nonprofit group working toward Wild and Scenic protection for the  East Rosebud.

Event schedule and times

Event Schedule: Please be up at the first Public parking lot near the boat launch area at East Rosebud lake at 8:00am for registration.

The race begins at 9am mountian time.

The 10K course runs from the starting point near the parking area to the Butterfly scenic marker near Jimmie Joe Campground  and back . Half of the 10K is on gravel and the other half on asphalt

The 5K course has the same starting point but the turn around is near the three sisters turnout.

Walkers can choose how far they walk only the 10k and 5K will be timed events.

Dress for the weather this course starts at an altitude of and estimated 6200 feet and runs first down hill and then back up.

 Water and lemonade and some snacks for runners will be provided. there will be a water station at the beginning , the three sisters and the butterfly marker but if you carry water for your run please bring your own.There is a store at East Rosebud lake that sells softdrinks and snacks also.
