About This Activity

Tri For The Shelter Sprint Triathlon is a USAT sanctioned event that takes place in the gorgeous Rocky Mountain Recreation area in the outskirts of Rome, Georgia. The sprint race begins with a 500 yard swim in a mountain lake, transitions to an 18 mile bike ride through beautiful rolling terrain (all on road) and finishes up with a 3.1 mile run. Participants are treated to spectacular views as they race to the finish line!

There is a 200 participant limit, so register now to reserve your spot!

All competitive or recreation-level participants are welcome.  Individual racers or relay teams can join.

Event schedule and times

Tri for the Shelter Sprint Triathlon will begin at 8:00 am.

Rocky Mountain Recreation Area requires a $5 per car parking fee. The race registration fee includes this fee for participants.

Directions from Rome: North on US Highway 27 for 10.4 miles, left on Sike Storey Road 0.4 miles, left on Big Texas Valley Road 8 miles to entrance.
