About This Activity

The Breast Center is joining forces with Floyd Healthcare Foundation this year to take Floyd’s iconic pink and green Paper Dolls to the streets during Breast Cancer Awareness month.  As in the past, the Three Rivers Run, the annual 5K race will raise funds for mammography scholarships, but with a new twist:

Walk as a Team or Individually
The Paper Doll Parade, now the walk portion of the event, is a one-mile pink and green celebration of breast health awareness and empowerment. Participants are encouraged to form teams of six and, if inspired, to even dress as Paper Dolls to walk in the parade. Individuals not part of a team can also participate.

Prior to the event, teams can raise additional donations through their own fundraising efforts. These donations will be used to promote breast health programs in our community, including mammography scholarships for women who can’t afford a mammogram.

A note about team names: We encourage you to have fun and be creative with your team name.  We do ask teams to choose names that are in good taste and without suggestive references. We are happy to provide additional guidance or answer any questions you may have.

Run the 5k
Runners are invited to join in on the fun by dressing in costume or wearing pink and green on race day. The Three Rivers Run 5k takes runners through downtown Rome following a path on Heritage Park Trail and ending on the Kingfisher Trail.

Big Pink Finish
After the parade, celebrate with breast cancer warriors and survivors at the Big Pink Finish. Also, participating breast cancer survivors and the teams raising the most money will be recognized.
