About This Activity
6th Annual Buffalo Creek Kids Triathlon
Saturday, June 14, 2014, 8:00 am
Make it part of a great Father’s Day Weekend!
50 meter Swim * 3 mile Bike * ½ mile Run
Produced by: Rockwall Cycling Club, Inc.
Goal: The kids triathlon is designed to give local kids an opportunity to engage in sports other than the traditional “team” sports, which are great but don’t necessarily appeal to everyone. Kids need to know there are other sports options, such as swimming, cycling, and running. There is a concept of “no child left behind” in the classroom—we also don’t want any child to get left behind athletically. Triathlon is a fabulous tool for teaching kids important life lessons such as goal setting, discipline, achievement, overcoming obstacles, and healthy habits for a lifetime.
Ages:Limited to Kids who are at least age 6, and no older than age 14. *Parents – Use your best judgment as to whether your child is ready for this type of strenuous event and to race without you next to them along the way. (Rules restrict Non-racers from being on the course.)
Location: We will start and finish the race at the parking lot for the Buffalo Creek neighborhood pool, located off Country Club and Horizon Road.
Awards: All Kids will receive a finisher’s medal, T-Shirt, and other goodies. This is intended to be a relaxed event to introduce kids to the sport, not a precisely timed competition.
To Enter: Online or Packet pick up is at Rockwall Cycling on Friday, June 13, between Noon and 6 p.m. You may also register in person at that time. NO Race morning registration or packet pick up.
