KAPOW! BAM! WOW! Don your capes and be Superheroes for homeless families! HomeTrust Bank presents the 5th annual Superhero Race in conjunction with Roanoke’s GO Outside Festival. The Little Heroes Training Course (fun run & obstacle course) will be a perfect way to get double the wear from your kids’ Halloween costumes. The Superhero 5K Fun Run/Walk on the Roanoke River Greenway is for runners and walkers of all ages and abilities, kids in strollers, and dogs. The race party will include a Parade of Heroes, music, and prizes for creativity and enthusiasm. Stick around after the race for more outdoor adventures at the GO Outside Festival! Money raised during the Superhero Race will go to Family Promise of Greater Roanoke, giving families a home on the way home.
Want to bring your whole family? We make it affordable! Everyone in your household (up to 10 people/dogs) can participate in any combination of races for a flat maximum fee of $75! Each individual must be registered but be sure to click on "Multi-person Pricing" and choose "Household Maximum Fee" before checking out.

Free race t-shirts and custom dog bandanas are guaranteed if registered by September 15. We will order extra and will do our best to provide them after that date -- you just may not get exactly the size you want.
The Superhero 5K route starts at Rivers Edge, crosses the pedestrian bridge to Wiley Drive; follows the Roanoke River Greenway to past Piedmont Park and doubles back to cross the pedestrian bridge and end at the festival site behind the stage.
PARTICIPANTS MUST PARK IN THE FREE PARKING GARAGE ON RESERVE AVENUE! Give yourselves time to get to the race site. Volunteers will direct you.
The race will be cancelled in case of inclement weather with dangerous winds, flooding, and/or lightning.
