Event details and schedule

CAFE is a comprehensive after school experience, grounded in the arts, that captures the imagination of middle school students through the delivery of curriculum aligned activities in dance, theater, music, and the visual arts. The left uses the arts as a primary focus for academic remediation. It employs SOL-aligned activities for learning while endeavoring to increase self-confidence and enhance overall life-engagement. Education through the arts has been proven to engage students at all levels, physically, mentally, socially, emotionally and culturally. The arts foster critical thinking skills, develop higher order thinking, deepen a desire to learn, and increase reading proficiency. CAFÉ ensures consistency in learning and nurtures proper development of organizational and study skills by building strong partnerships with school teachers, support staff, and administrators. This provides a seamless transition from the day to after school programming. The results are increased school attendance, enhanced thought patterns, a love for self, and fewer discipline referrals in school through advanced exposure to life opportunities. Additionally, students are provided homework assistance and a nutritious meal.
