About This Activity

The inaugural Flannel Face Off challenges competitors with Northwoods Wisconsin-style fun. Who will be crowned King or Queen of the Northwoods?
Taking place in conjunction with the Rhinelander Lions Club Fisheree, the Flannel Face Off is an adventure 5K that will pit competitors against each other in a test of endurance, skill, and fortitude. The course begins and ends in scenic Hodag Park in Rhinelander and will consist of a 5k run with challenges throughout the route.
Participants will not only have to brave snow, ice, and cold temperatures, but they will also have to complete tasks such as drilling through Boom Lake ice with a hand ice-auger, pulling a sled full of ice fishing gear, carrying an armful of firewood around a portion of the course, dragging a mock deer carcass out of the woods, and scaling a snowbank of epic heights.
