About This Activity
Join us for the 5th Annual Rat Beach Bike Tour Saturday, September 27, 2014 The Fifth Annual Rat Beach Bike Tour will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014. We have three great rides to choose from--a Metric Century (62 miles), a Metric Half Century (31 Miles) and a Beach Fun Ride (approximately 15.5 miles), starting from our new location at Seaside Lagoon in Redondo Beach. Yes, you read it right; in 2012 the Rat Beach Bike Tour moved our start/finish location due to the rides popularity and increasing ridership. This year the RAT RIDE is Co-Sponsoring with the Redondo Beach Lobster Fest. This means the START/FINISH will be moved to the same location as the Lobster Fest. The Rat Beach Bike Tour and the Redondo Beach Lobster Fest are being held at the Seaside Lagoon next to King Harbor, just north of the Redondo Beach Pier, 200 Portofino Way, Redondo Beach, CA - 90277 (At the corner of Harbor Drive and Beryl Street).
The Co-Sponsoring of the two events will offer our riders even more opportunities. The biggest change to the RAT Ride is all of our riders will be admitted into the Lobster Fest for lunch and a huge PARTY at the end of our ride. We still have the three great rides to choose from and you will finish the ride at a PARTY.
The Lobster Fest is none stop Music, Kids Area, Cocktails, food, more music, Beach, sand and fun.
You will be able to choose lunch served by Ruby's Dinner, included with your RAT RIDE rider registration, or opt for the Fresh Maine lobster lunch or Surf 'N Turf lunch.
This year's 2013 event promises to be even larger with more interesting routes through the beautiful South Bay. Your entry fee will help support Pediatric Therapy Network, plus the many other charities supported by the South Bay Sunrise Rotary Club.
Your entry fee includes *RAT Beach T-Shirt *SAG stop refreshments *Roving bike support *Lunch served by Ruby's Diner *Plus the sun, beach and ocean.
What could be better? We will ride rain or shine, but when does it ever rain at the beach? This is a bike ride, not a bike race and bike helmets are required. You will not be allowed on course without your helmet.
