About This Activity

The Palos Verdes Art Center is pleased to present the PVAC Runners 5k for Alzheimer's. This is a fun 5k Run/Walk Event that will take place on Saturday, September 6th at 8am. The finish and the start will be held at the PVAC, 5504 West Crestridge Road, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, 90275. 50% of the proceeds from the event will go to the Alzheimer's Association - California Southland Chapter.

The PVAC Runners 5k for Alzheimer's is taking place in conjunction with the exhibit "Floating Man: The Sketchbook Drawings of David Rinehart" which takes place Friday, July 25th through Sunday, September 7th. Please join us for the opening reception on Friday, July 25th at 6-8pm (Members Preview) and 8-9pm for the general public.

The Palos Verdes Art Center (pvartleft.org) is a non-profit community art gallery and school. PVAC has made the visual arts available to southwestern Los Angeles County for more than 80 years. 

The PVAC Runners is a training group that meets at the PVAC on Tuesdays and Thursdays (rain or shine!) at 5pm at the Gallery entrance. The scenery can not be beat on these 3-4 mile workouts. The training is free. Blythe Peelor, Race Director and Director of PVAC Runners is an RRCA Distance Running Coach, has completed 8 marathons, 1 IronMan triathlon and has helped hundreds of people reach their running-related athletic goals.

Event schedule and times

Race start is at 8am on Saturday, September 6th at the Palos Verdes Art Center. Please arrive by 7am to check-in or register. Race course (as yet to be determined) will close by 9:30am. There is parking in the PVAC lot as well as along the street. There will be no bag check. The weather will most likely be warm.
