About This Activity

Come to the First Annual Radford Fall Food 5K Run!  Run in the evening with glowsticks available in your swag bag (for the first 200 registrants) or purchase extras on site.  Enjoy the beautiful scenery of The New River and Bisset Park while listening to music coming from the pavillion in the left of the course.

Event schedule and times

Come join the fun and run the beautiful trail beside the New River in Bisset Park on Saturday evening,  September 6 at 7:00pm!  The Radford Fall Food 5K is the first annual event to raise money and food for the Radford Food Bank which helps feed hundreds of families year round.  The holidays are quickly approaching, and we want to be able to give every family a meal they can serve to their loved ones. 


Packet Pick-up and race day registration:  Begins at 4:00 on race day.  The registration table will be located in Shelter ONE at Bisset Park.  Race day registration will end promptly at 6:00pm on race day.  Race will begin and end at the entrance of shelter one.

Safety Requirement:  ALL runners must wear reflective, light colored shirts and carry a glowstick.  The first 200 runners registered will receive a FREE GLOWSTICK in their race packet.  Glwosticks will be available for sale ($1.00) at the packet pick-up for those without a glowstick.  No animals on the course during the race, headphones are discouraged and strollers/baby joggers need to start at the back.


Awards-Overall:  Top 3 male and female finishers will receive an award.  Age group: Award three deep, male and female, in the following categories:  below 16, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+.


Course:  The 5K course loops around Bisset Park, along the New River.  All miles will be marked.  Water will be available.


Post Race:  Post race food/snacks will be available at the finish.  Music will be provided by the Radford Worship Center Praise and Worship Team in the pavilion in the park.
