About This Activity

The Great Turkey Chase at Queenstown Harbor is a family-oriented fun event! Enjoy Thanksgiving morning being with family and friends on a beautiful run/walk in a peaceful setting at Queenstown Harbor Golf before settling in for feasting and football!!

THE GREAT TURKEY CHASE BENEFITS THE MARYLAND FOOD BANK so please remember to bring some non-perishable food items with you to the Chase. Our goal is to collect at least 1300 pounds.               

COURSE:
The course for The GREAT TURKEY CHASE is a mix of flat and rolling terrain!  There are paved sections as well as some “across the grass” areas and some wooden bridges to cross.  It is a beautiful course with water views, occasional wildlife sightings, woods, fields, and, of course, the golf course!!

DRESS UP!!  COSTUMES encouraged!
We will also have prizes for best costume (Male and Female) so be creative, be festive!                                                                                                                                                                            
 

Event details and schedule

SCHEDULE:
7:00 a.m. - Registration Opens
8:00 a.m. – Mass Race Start  (Five Mile Runners at the front, followed by Two Mile Runners, then Two Mile Walkers followed by those with strollers.
WHEN TO ARRIVE ON RACE DAY
We recommend that you arrive at least 1hour to 45 minutes before the race start time.  Remember that you will have to park, pick up your t-shirt, drop off your MD Food Bank donation, and make your way to the starting line.
PARKING
There is plenty of parking available near the start for all race participants.  There is only one way in and one way out of Queenstown Harbor Golf Course.  Enter through the gate and follow the road until you reach the Clubhouse.  Volunteers will direct you to the parking lot.
REGISTRATION will be at the Pavilion ALL RUNNERS SHOULD PROCEED DIRECTLY TO THE APPROPRIATE REGISTRATION TABLE.

COURSE:
The course for The GREAT TURKEY CHASE is a mix of flat and rolling terrain!  There are paved sections as well as some “across the grass” areas and some wooden bridges to cross.  It is a beautiful course with water views, occasional wildlife sightings, woods, fields, and, of course, the golf course!! 
PLEASE NOTE:  The path can be narrow in some spots.  We kindly ask that our walkers and those with strollers start at the very back of the pack to leave the course as clear as possible for our runners.  Both races begin together and then separate onto different courses about 1 mile out. There will be ONE water stop on the FIVE MILE course. Port o pots are only available in the pavillion area.  There are NONE on the course!

AWARDS
The Chase has a mass start and a time clock at the finish. IT IS NOT CHIP TIMED!
Race Winners are determined as the First Adult Male, First Adult Female, First Male Child, First Female Child to cross the finish line for each race (5 mile and 2 mile).  
Two Mile Runners/Walkers will be given a GREEN Wristband.  (Please make sure you are wearing it at race time.) At the finish, a volunteer will give you a card if you are one of our prize winners.  All runners should proceed to the Pavilion after finishing the race for refreshments.
