About This Activity

The Walk Against Drugs is a long standing tradition in Prince George County.  This year marks the 4th annual 5K involving this community event.  This year, we have added a splash of color to the run.

The WADA Paint Run 5K is an endurance running event for all ages.  Beyond the physical and mental tests, each race begins with each participant wearing the event tee-shirt, which is provided via registration.  The racers will make the way through the course in which spectators will hurl colored powder (cornstarch and coloring) at them leaving their shirts and bodies tie-dyed as they complete the run.  The run is designed to be fun and pleasant with a twist of color added.

In addition to the 5K race, we are also planning a 1K Kids “Little Feet Meet”.  The same use of colored powder will be applied to this event as well.

The race course will begin and end at PG's Scott Memorial Park.  At the conclusion of the race, the Fall Farmer's Market will be in full swing for racers and spectators to enjoy.

Registration for this event can be completed via Active.com or via the schools.  PG students and county employees will have a fee of $10 and SHOULD ONLY REGISTER VIA PAPER FORM THROUGH THE SCHOOLS.  Non-PG students and adults, will have a fee of $25.   Each registriation provides the participant with a tee-shirt, sunglasses, and bib for the date of the race, if completed by September 14th.  PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU DO NOT REGISTER PRIOR TO THIS DATE, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A TEE-SHIRT OR SUNGLASSES.  Please join us September 27th, 2014 for a day full of fun, color, and community.
