This self timed, non competitive run is inspired by journey runs, Ned Swain the owner ofDevenish Wines has done. These were runs of indeterminate length in wine regions all over Italy. The more that Ned did this and reflected on it, he learned there are a lot of philosophical parallels between Journey running and wine making. In both situations you don't necessarily know where you're going to end up and you have to accept and deal with whatever nature gives you.
"Since it's a tie in with my journey running around Italy I want people to think about the difference between a normal training run in your neighborhood where you know exactly how long it will be and when you will stop compared to running somewhere that you've never been before and you're not sure where the finish is." said Ned Swain
