About This Event The Kalamazoo Area Runners Turkey Trot 5K Time Prediction Run will be held at Portage West Middle School (7145 Moorsbridge Rd, Portage, MI 49024) at 9:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23, 2017. We are offering an early Packet Pickup on Wednesday, November 22rd at the Portage YMCA (A-Frame Building, 2900 W. Centre, Portage, MI 49024) from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Race day Registration and Packet Pickup will be from 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.
This is a timed prediction run and awards are distributed to the top 10, based on the closest predicted to actual time. Awards will also be given to the overall male and female open and masters winners. No watches or other devices that track time, bicycles, dogs, or strollers are permitted in this unique event. No refunds or transfers. Cut-off finish time to be included in official results is 50 minutes.
Event is $15 (no shirt) for those who pre-register by November 21st ($15 individual / $50 family cap) and $20 (no shirt) for late/race day registration ($80 family cap). Long-sleeve technical shirts may be purchased through November 13th during pre-registration for an additional $25. Proceeds from registrations and additional online donations will support the Turkey Trot and the Kalamazoo Area Runners (KAR). Race day donations will also be accepted for the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission (i.e. canned fruits & veggies, coffee, cereal, rice and/or sugar) or for the Portage Community Center (i.e. canned goods, non-perishable items, or personal items like shampoo, deodorant, and/or toothpaste).
