About This Activity

Team Daniel Running For Recovery From Mental Illness became our vision when our son was diagnosed with schizophrenia. It took us years to develop an integrated medical approach that included an augmented clozapine regimen, exercise, diet, and other ancillary services that he needed to thrive in the world. We are now helping others with serious persistent mental illness get the help they need to live the life they dream of. The proceeds from our events go to organizations that support people living with mental illness and give us in voice in emphasizing the need for comprehensive, integrated care of mind and body.

Daniel is now a college graduate with a degree from SUNY Purchase in Screenwriting and Playwriting. He was on the Dean's list for several semesters. He is now living in NYC, and while he still requires support from his family he makes progress toward independence every day. He is a stand up comedian and performs several times a week. It has taken a lot of resources and effort but Daniel is a productive member of society and will live his dream. We believe in running, relationships, research and ultimately recovery. Team Daniel is a 501(c)3 charitable organization..
