About This Activity

Tri the Beach Triathlon will take place at the Lower Shore Family YMCA in Pocomoke City, MD on August 1, 2015. Our race offes something for everyone with a Sprint distance, an Olympic distance, a Sprint Team entry and a Kids Tri. Whether your a seasoned triathlete, a first timer, a beginner, or your ready to "tri" again, our race is right for you. Swim in our beautiful spring fed lake, bike the scenic and flat country roads and run our fast out and back course.

Registration includes race entry, race tee, finisher medal, YMCA swag bag (more detail to come), and music, food and beverages on our beach post race.

All proceeds benefit the Lower Shore Family YMCA's Strong Kids Campaign. For more info about the Strong Kids Campaign go to

Packet Pick-Up and Last Minute Registrations: Friday, July 31st from 5-9pm at the Lower Shore Y and Day of from 5:30-6:30am

Olympic Distance: Begins at 7am sharp. 1 mile swim, 25 mile bike, 6.2 mile run

Sprint Distance: Begins at 8 am sharp. 1/2 mile swim, 13 mile bike, 3.1 mile run

Kids Tri: Begins at 10:30am. 100 yard swim, 2 mile bike, 1 mile run

Wetsuits are permitted. Average Lake temperature in August is 75 degrees.

Post Race Events begin following the Kids Tri finish.

Prizes: 1st & 2nd Place Male and Female Overall

           1st & 2nd Place Age Groups for Males

           1st & 2nd Place Age Groups for Females

           1st & 2nd Place Overall Teams

           All Kids will receieve a finisher medal.

Relax post race on our new lakeside beach or have a little fun on our our 100 foot Wet Willie waterslide, the Blob, or explore by canoeing.
