About This Activity
Help the Ugandan Water Project bring clean water and new life to communities in Uganda!
The Ugandan Water Project is a local organization that raises funds to provide drinking water resources in Uganda. Since 2008, UWP has helped provide more than 200 communities, over 60,000 people, in Uganda with clean water. Ugandans typically walk 2-5 miles twice a day to reach the nearest water source - often a dirty watering hole shared by livestock and teeming with micro-organisms. Invetivably, this leads to disease and sometimes death. Solutions are simple! UWP utilizes large community building roofs (like schools, churches, and health clinics) to install rainwater collection systems to harvest water. A complete system serves about 300 people, costs only $3,600, installs in about 30 days, and lasts 30 years!
Your run symbolically represents the walk that many have to make in Uganda. Instead, through your generosity and participation, we're bringing life-giving water to them!
