About This Activity

1st Annual Community Mutt Strut is a dogwalk to raise money to sponsor service dogs for local Pittsburgh Area veterans through Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs. The Veterans’ Administration estimates that 22 veterans commit suicide every day! Our goal is to provide 22 service dogs to Pittsburgh area veterans in hopes to reduce  that number to ZERO!

The service dogs take up to 2 years to fully train. The costs to sponsor one of these amazing animals is approximately $22,000.

The Mutt Strut will consist of a large dog parade, divided into three categories (small, medium and large breed).  Prizes will be awarded to the top three winners in each category, along with Best Dressed Dogs and Best Look-A-Like Owner/Dog Team.  Registration is per dog. Multiple dogs can be registered in the same cart. Every registrant will receive a doggy-bag containing pet related items donated by sponsors and vendors, along with the “Doggy Deal” Coupon book full of savings on pet related products and services.  The event will also host dog-related vendors. We invite you to be part of this life changing event as we serve those veterans who have served us.

SAVE $2.20 for each additional dog registered after the first using code 22VETERANS.
