About This Activity

*Park entry is NOT included- we highly encourage you to camp/carpool to the event site.

A Beautiful, Olympic Distance Tri and OWS at Tucson's open water oasis.  This has been doubed the hardest triathlon in ArizonA! And this year, there is a SPRINT test group.

1500 m lake swim in 60 degree water, challenging 24.6 bike on steep rolling terrain, adventurous 10K run on hard packed gravel.  Sprinters: 500 m/8.3 mile/5K.  All 3 courses will test you as a triathlete.

Patagonia Lake is open to swimming year round. Come test the water any time and warm up or pre-swim the coarse at your liesure. OWS uses the same course- start at boat dock in the camp ground and wrap Right- swim past to the left of the buoys in the East lake area and finish at the beach area.

Begginners and intermediate athletes are strongly encouraged to visit Patagonia lake to pre-ride the bike course. Course link available at  The Bike is steep and curvy at the start and finish. Water stop at 6.8, 19 (water only), and 12.2 (Hammer gel, HEED, and water).  Because of line of site dangers with the pilot car, we will NOT have many roving vehicles for bike support. Be prepared to repair your own flats. SAG wagon fallows the last athlete and will asssist you if you're still around.

Run is out to Sonoita Creek Trailhead- we do a loop on the trail head approach road to make  a true 10K and return to the Lake. Remember the loop- you repeat 2 miles of the trail head road.

Start and finish at the Beach area. Water stop at 1.5, 3, 4.5.

FINISH under FINIS arch and rejoice because you have beaten a really hard course!

Post Race Deli wraps in itallian, beef, and vegetarian, chips, and choice of beverages- LIMITED gluten free- please request for any special dietary needs RD Kate:

Refreshments will NOT include fresh cut fruits due to bee issues. We will have bananas in their peels and fruit snacks in the ramada area.
