About This Activity
This scenic running and walking event takes place on the City's bridle/hiking trails. The 10K event will also go through the beautiful South Coast Botanic Gardens. Walkers will only be able to participate in the 5K event. Proceeds from this fun run event go to the City's park foundation, the Rolling Hills Estates Pepper Tree Foundation. The Foundation supports the maintenance and development of parks, trails, open space, and recreation facilities for use by South Bay residents and visitors.
Save $10 by registering on-line, in-person, or by mail. The race entry fee increases to $40 to register on race day
Event schedule and times
The Hills Are Alive races will start and finish in Ernie Howlett Park, 25851 Hawthorne Boulevard, Rolling Hills Estates (90274) beginning at 8:00 a.m. Parking will be available in Howlett Park and on Hawthorne Boulevard. Race shirts and gift bags will be available for pick-up starting at 7:00 a.m. Awards, water, and snacks will be available after the race and timing will be conducted by Pacific Coast Race Timing. Race bib numbers are required to be pinned on the front of your shirt or shorts. The race course will be monitored by the Palos Verdes Amateur Radio Club and McCormick Ambulance will have 2 paramedic units on standby at the park. Several water stations will be available on both race courses. No dogs or strollers are allowed on the race course.
