About This Activity

The 2nd annual Hungry Hearts Int. 5k Run/Walk for Refugees takes place in the scenic Southcoast Botanical Gardens in Palos Verdes, Ca. Hungry Hearts international is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization that focuses on caring for men, women, widows and children at risk around the World. We aim to aid the refugees through work programs, vocational training, distribution of goods and trauma relief.
Our 5k Run/Walk starts during the peak of autumn, at the garden entrance and continues through beautiful flowered verandas, along tree lined paths and, after 3 loops, ends in a grassy meadow. There are hills and curves as the course follows the Tram path. You finish the last half mile with a view of Santa Monica and Los Angeles. The course is very good training for those interested in improving their race fitness.
The event also includes a Vintage Car Show with aproximately 40 restored cars and food vendors for your enjoyment immediately after the race. There is a limited number of runners allowed so register early to ensure a spot. The car show is part of the race and not open to the public.
