About This Activity
2014 Race Omaha Open Water Swims. There is no better way to practice than the real thing.
The Open Water Swims will have a designated swim course with buoys and lifeguards.
The Open Water Swims will be chip timed this year.
Everyone has a chance to win prizes from sponsors.
Open Water Swim #1 - May 22nd at Youngman Lake
Open Water Swim #2 - May 29th at Youngman Lake
Open Water Swim #3 - June 12th at Glenn Cunningham Lake
Open Water Swim #4 - June 19th at Glenn Cunningham Lake
Open Water Swim #5 - June 26th at Glenn Cunningham Lake
Open Water Swim #6 - July 10th at Glenn Cunningham Lake
OPEN WATER SCHEDULE:
5:30 PM – Check in at the registration desk.
Make sure you have your USAT card and/or receipt in case we don’t have you on the check in list.
Pick up a timing chip and wrist band. Make sure they are secure around your ankle. You are responsible for the chip.
6:00 PM Open Water swim starts
7:00 PM Open Water Swim stops
7:05 PM Return your timing chip and see if you won a prize. Yippee!
Registrations will close the day before the Open Water Swims at 12:00 Midnight. For example, the first Open Water Swim is Thursday, May 22nd. Registration closes on Wednesday at midnight, May 21st.
Everyone who swims must have an Annual USA Triathlon membership ($45) or buy a 1 Day license ($12).
If you are an annual member, you can sign up one at a time and the price will be the same. If you are not an annual member, you should sign up for as many training sessions at once and pay the $12 fee one time. If you sign up for two Open Water Swims and decide to sign up for one more at a later date, you will need to pay for the 1 Day USAT fee two times ($24).
SAME DAY ENTRIES $20 + show your USAT Membership or purchase a 1 Day Membership ($12)
Please bring: Your USAT membership card, receipt (in case) and swim cap.
Volunteers needed for: Registration, Swimmer Exit (remove chip), Life Guards / Kayakers – we have kayaks.
