"A child with Rett Syndrome is born every 2 hours."
The goal of the OKC River Run is to raise support and awareness for Rett Syndrome, which is a genetic disorder that affects mainly girls and severely impairs "nearly every aspect of the child’s life: their ability to speak, walk, eat, and even breathe easily." (https://www.rettsyndrome.org/about-rett-syndrome). The need for research is critical.
The OKC River Run is a USATF certified course along the picturesque Oklahoma River that provides a smooth, level, paved trail through downtown Oklahoma City free of vehicle traffic.

Jogging/Racing Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome on the course but must comply with the following in order to ensure a safe, enjoyable, competitive race atmosphere for everyone:
Both parties - runner and rider - must be registered for the race and have signed the liability waivers. However, only the runner, not the rider, need to pay the registration fees. (Contact OKC River Run for a registration coupon code for Rett girls and their disabled friends.)
All participants with strollers or wheelchairs will be asked to start the run at the back of their line-up to help with the initial flow of foot traffic and gun times.
Come enjoy a beautiful run and support Rett Syndrome research. We Won't Stop 'til There's a Cure!
