 2016 Derby Day Events

          presented by Great American Insurance Group - Equine Division

5K - Awards given to Male/Female, 3 deep, 5-year age groups, Overall and Masters.

10K- Start your run with the 5K runners and then continue on the Florida Greenway. Awards given to Male/Female, 3 deep, 10-year age groups, Overall and Masters.

Kids 1K Fun Run - Kids up to age 12 can enjoy a quick 1K run through the Florida Horse Park. Awards given to top 3 overall finishers.

Derby Hat Contest - Create and wear your most fashionable hat for the Derby Hat Contest. Awards given to best male and female participant.

Shirts guaranteed to first 250 registrations for any of the races. 10K and 5K will receive long sleeve dri-fit shirts and kids will receive short sleeve cotton shirts.

Event details and schedule

6:15 am – Registration opens / packet pick up begins

7:30 am – 10K & 5K races begin

8:30 am – 5K awards

9:00 am – Kids 1K

9:20 am – Kids 1K awards

9:30 am – 10K awards

9:45 am – Derby Hat Contest

Please arrive early. Participants will be walking across polo field to event area. Early packet pick up will be on Saturday only, beginning at 6:15 am. New for 2016, chip timing provided by Spitler Racing.

The 5K and 10K trail runs will begin at the same time. 10K runners will venture into the Florida Greenway with hiking-like trail paths (please plan accordingly). 10K runners will also need to sign the Florida Greenway release form at packet pick up.

Don't forget to come with your best Derby Hat for the Derby Hat contest at 9:45. Best male and female participants will win!
