About This Activity
If you are serious about our sport and want to get as much out of a Running Camp as possible, X-Treme Running Camp is the camp for you. Our guarantee is that you will leave X-Treme Running Camp in better shape, more motivated and confident and with a higher love of our sport than when you arrived. If you are a competitive youth runner, the X-Treme Running Camp experience will bring your running to a higher level. Our philosophy is that if you do something: do it right. Get as much out of running as you can and go into yuour season in shape... both physically and mentally. Challenge yourself and come to X-Treme Running Camp so you can reach your full potential in all aspects of our sport. In its 16th year, X-Treme Running Camp has gained the reputation as one of the most prestigious running camps in the Northeast.
Event details and schedule
X-Treme Running Camp is from 9 am to noon. We will provide water and a daily snack but encourage campers to please bring their own sports drink and to dress appropriately for the weather. This Camp is rain or shine.
The Camp takes full advantage of Lodestar Park's surpurb training grounds and variious terrains. The Camp caters to middle and high school runners but younger kids with a love of the sport often attend as well. Campers are grouped by ability. We welcome runners of all abilities as well as athletes involved in other sports looking to improve theeir endurance, speed and overall fitness.
Each day includes an endurance session, a speed session plus one or more highly-acclaimed guest speakers. X-Treme is directed by elite distance running husband ande wife team Guy and Laurie Gordon. All counslors are seasoned adult runners.
X-Treme Running Camp addresses: goal setting, motivation, visualization, form analysis and biomechanics, team building, training strategies and ways to think "outside the box" to optimize your training and performance. We address injury prevention, overall core and body strength building, racing techniques and the power of believing in yourself and striving to reach your potential. Specials during the week include: The X-Treme Relay, The X-Treme 5K, The Impromptu Relay and the trademark X-Treme Run Around drill.
ACCOMODATIONS: Though we are a day Camp, those from outside the area often opt to stay in the area for the week of Camp. Swartswood State Park offers tent and yurt camping, Aldersgate has a large facility, and Stokes State Forest has cabins. We suggest you arrange for your accommodations early as sites fill up.
