On Saturday, October 18th, the third annual “Rock the Trail for Autism” trail run and walk will be hosted at the beautiful Newport News Park.
Newport News Park is the largest municipal park on the East Coast, which is on 8,000 acres of beautiful scenic nature and history. Filled with scenic trails, lake and historic sites, Newport News Park offers an exquisite setting for the multiple race event:

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other related disorders affects thousands of families in our community. “Rock the Trail for Autism” is a great way to show your support by participating and contributing to a local event that directly benefits outreach and education programs for individual with Autism and their families.
Today, 1 in every 68 children is born with Autism, which is higher than childhood cancer, juvenile diabetes, Down syndrome, cerebral palsey and pediatric AIDS combined together. This is a 30% increase in America from 2008 figures released by the CDC.
Autism is the fastest growing serious Developmental Disorder costing families an average of $60,000 per year.
Autism is a lifelong neurobiological disorder with a wide range of varying degrees, whichaffects over 2,000,000 people in America and their families.
These two charities that this event benefits Peninsula School for Autism and Commonwealth Autism Service, are both 501 ( c ) 3 non-profit organizations have partnered to enhance the quality of life for people with Autism and their families with the community of Newport News, Hampton, York County, Poquoson, Gloucester, Williamsburg, James City County and across our great Commonwealth.
