About This Activity

This fall 200-kilometer brevet is perhaps the most beautiful of the year.  We leave New York City via the bike path on the Geroge Washington Bridge.  Once on the New Jersey side the route heads north along the Hudson with pleasant views of the river along the way.  After Stony Point Bear Mountain State Park is entered featrunig a long climb to the top on the famous Perkins Drive.  The view from this vantage point is most spectacular with fall colors in full bloom.  Riders will enjoy a fast descent after which they will traverse the north section of Harriman State Park.  The norternmost point of the route will be reached in Monroe, NY.  Harriman Park will be passed through once again on Seven Lakes Drive on the return to the city.  One last control will be at Conklin New York prior to re-crossing the George Washington Bridge.  The finish will be at Tryon Park one mile from the start.  There is a 13.5 hour time limit for an official finish.  The route features about 7,000 feet of vertical elevation gain.
