Start in Foley Square at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge and run across the most memorable span in the nation and into downtown Brooklyn, racing past Borough Hall, through historic Brooklyn Heights. Finish the race at Cadman Park and take part in 2nd annual Brooklyn War Memorial Honors presented by the Cadman Park Conservancy and the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership. The event will commemorate the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Special honorees this year include Katherine Fernandez (nee Horton) one of the three first African American WAVES to enter the Hospital Corps School at the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, MD during WWII.
This memorable ceremony will also feature:
· Team Red White and Blue
· A flyover by a WWII biplane
· US Navy Ceremonial Band
· US Navy Color Guard
· US Air Force Honor Guard
· US Air force Silent Drill Team,
· The American Bombshells
The ceremony will begin at 11am after all the runners have completed the race and last for about 1 hour. We hope you will join in this moving tribute to our veterans.
