About This Activity
TheConey Island Sports Foundation in Association with On Stage at Kingsborough presents the 24th Annual CISF Boardwalk Charity 5K Run/Walk which is is a unique fun race for the entire family. This race offers a thrill seeking scenic view from all the thrills and rides , along the route, enjoy the scenic view of what Coney Island has all to offer from the thrill seeking rides to the oasis view of the Atlantic Ocean, Little Odessa Brighton Beach restaurants and cafe shops, aside from the breath taking views of area beaches. In Partnership with On Stage at Kingsborough, live music and entertainment will be provided along the course route and during Pre-Race warm up by award-winning performers. Come and participate in your Theatrical Costume for your chance to win a Prize!
We offer one of a kind performance enhancement dry fit with the one of a kind George C. Tilyou (the iconic Coney Island Funny Face) shirt and a commemorative collectible Coney Island USA medal to each participant!
Awards will be given to the top male and female overalland in each of the following Age Groups: 11-16, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, & 80 & over.
Addtional prizes offerd and sponsored by On Stage at Kingsborugh for best theatrical costumes and beverage bottle giveaways.
Event details and schedule
Start of raceSunday June 26, 2016 9:30 am West 19th Street and Reigelmann Boardwalk (West 19th Street Pavilion near the Parachute Jump). Same day registration available and race packet can be picked up on race day at the West 19th Street Pavilion on the boardwalk starting at 8:30 am. Parking Plenty of free alternate side of the street parking available. MCU Park parking after 8:00 am there is a $10- 15 dollar fee for parking bu if you arrive early enough there is free parking prior to 7:45 am at MCU Park. Other Directions Car: Take Belt Parkway to Exit 6 or 6S then turn Right on Cropsey Avenue and follow until it merges with W 17th St to Surf Ave. (Walk right 1 block to race) Subway: Take DFNQ to Stillwell Avenue - Last Stop and walk south 1 block
Bus: Take B64, B68, B74, or B82 to Stillwell Avenue - Last Stop and walk south 1 block or B36 to Stillwell Avenue stop Bathroom - restrooms available on Stillwell Avenue and Reigelmann Boardwalk and are open after 8:00 am that Sunday morning. We will have a cellphone and baggage check area for participants. Pee Wee Run A run for children 10 years old and under is also held for only a $5 fee, includes medals, popcorn, cotton candy etc. Race day registration for Pee Wee run only on race day.
