About This Activity

Mark's Place Healthy Is Beautiful 2015 Benefits YUHR Move: The Union Hospital Healthplex Program for Patients with Parkinsons or Other Movement Disorders.

The Mark's Place HiB 2015 will be Sunday October 11th in the peak of leaf season at Historic Schoenbrunn Village.  The park is located at 1986 East High Avenue, New Philadelphia, OH 44663   (Adjoining Harry Clever Airfield)

 HiB 2015 will offer:

  • 1 and 4 mile walks 
  • 10k (6.2 mile) run, or 2 person relay with a 4/6k split
  • 10, 21, or 36 mile road bike routes.  Not a race, not a trail, and not flat.
  • Cross Field Course that includes 2 miles of running, 50 air squats, 50 pushups,  a 50 yard bear crawl, 50 yards of walking lunges,  and 50 yards of burpee broad jumps. Sorry no barbed-wire, mud pits, or electric wires.

 Cyclists start at 12 noon with the option of making it back to watch or participate in the other events.  The marked, signed, and saged road bike course closes at 4PM.  The closed Run/Walk/Cross course opens back up to traffic at 4:30 PM.

All proceeds go through Movers and Shakers Against Parkinson's of Tuscarawas County 501(c)3, #35-2281254, to benefit Union Hospital's Care of patients with Movement Disorders.  Proceeds specifically fund the YUHR Move program and training, equipment and therapy classes at Union Hospital Healthplex.  A professional 4 minute video clip is online and can be seen at

  •      Team Captains must contact race director to establish team by August 31, 2015.
  •      Teams may be set up for non-profit and family groups or as a corporate sponsored team.
  •      Teams must be established by August 31.
  •      Team Registraion Deadline is September 30.
  •       Team fundraising to qualify for logo T deadline September 30/

 Adult Registration:    $38 ($30 in October w/o shirt)

Youth Registration - $28 ($20 in October w/o shirt)  Age 12 and under.

                     Youth Registration comes with a Youth Size Cotton T not the dryfit adult T-Shirt

                     Youth registration does not include Race Number exchange for Matrix Shampoo/Conditioner or Mark's Place Gift Card.

                     Youth needing or wanting an adult size dry-fit T and Matrix/GC exchange need to register as an adult.

  • Your race number is valid for $20 in services at Mark's Place or a Matrix liter duo at the event. (A $35 Value) with Adult Registration only
  • Catering by Bistro 131 and Beacon Point
  • Joe Williams and Still Water Bluegrass band live before and after the race

Awards will be given for the top 3 finishers in 5 year age group categories for the 10K Run, and for the first 3 places in male/male, female/male, and female/female divisions of the 10k Run Relay

Walkers and Cross will not be timed.

Establishing A Team:  

Team Captains must contact Mark Luikart, race director, by August 31 to establish a team.  

We have over 40 teams from large companies to individual families and we will work with you to make the HiB event special and memorable for your family, company or non-profit.

Family and Non Profit Organization Teams

These teams pay their own registration fees and work together to raise additional funds for Movers and Shakers.  Teams can be any size.

Teams that raise over $500 beyond their registration fees will receive $100 in Mark's Place Spa Gift Cards to use as they wish.

Teams raising an additional $500 ($1,000 total) will get their team logo on the front of their T-Shirts also.

Corporate or Sponsored Teams

These teams have a sponsor paying for the registration fees and making a donation to Movers and Shakers.

A $1,500 donation includes 13 registrations, your logo on the race banner, on the front of your teams t-shirts,  in the event program, in next years race flyer, and in a news paper ad.
