About This Activity

Huguenot Street Cooperative Nursery School's Annual Community Run/Walk 5K in New Paltz starts at 6 pm on Friday, May 8, 2015 and takes place at the school in Historic Huguenot in New Paltz at 92 Huguenot Street.  The non-competitive “fun run” for children of all ages comes first right at 6 pm and is free of charge.  All fun runners receive a participation medal.

The 5K RUN/WALK begins after the Kids Fun Run; the course starts on Broadhead Street near the Huguenot Historical Society. It proceeds left on historic Huguenot Street towards Main Street, left on Main Street, then left onto the Rail Trail to Old Kingston Road. There will be a turnaround and the race will continue back on scenic Huguenot Street to the finish line.  Prizes and certificates will be awarded to top-place finishers.

This family event will also feature an extensive raffle with donations from local businesses, including a grand prize of a deluxe hybrid bicycle valued at $400 courtesy of  The Bike Depot.  In addition to the raffle, there will be plenty of free activities in the playground for children of all ages.  Adult supervision is required.

Proceeds of the raffle and race will go towards upgrading the playground area shared by both the school and the public.  The Huguenot Street Cooperative Nursery School was founded in 1958 and is located in the historic Huguenot Village in New Paltz. The Huguenot Street Cooperative Nursery School is a non-profit, non-sectarian school for children ages two though five.
