About This Activity

The Freaky 5k and Monster Mile is family-friendly benefit event created by Alpha Upsilon of ESA sorority to help raise money for our areas beloved Camp New Hope.  Runners/Walkers are invited to wear their funniest, spookiest, or cutest costumes for the event.  Professional face/body painting will be available to add a little spunk to your costume.

Camp New Hope's Mission is to provide a safe and caring camp for people with developmental disabilities to experience fun and companionship, allowing a break for families and caregivers.

This year we celebrate two milestones: The 60th Anniversary of the inception of the idea for Camp New Hope and the 40th Anniversary of what is in place today!  Camp New Hope has been providing activities for campers since 1974!

Let's all get together and make spooky memories with a family filled morning of costumes, face-painting, fitness, and fun, while supporting Camp New Hope!

For those who have a passion for timing their runs, Mattoon Multisports Championship 247 timing will be at the event to ensure accuracy of times and distances.
