About This Activity

The Navy Reserve; Ready Then, Ready Now, Ready Always!  Created on March 3, 1915 the Navy Reserve has been integrally involved in every major conflict since World War I.  As Admiral William J. Fallon stated "We must remember that the Reserves, which represent 20% of our warfighting force, are absolutely vital to our Navy's warfighting ability to fight and win wars now and in the future."

  Come join the 100th anniversary 5K celebration of the Navy Reserve on March 7 2015 at NOSC Ventura County!  The opening ceremony will begin at 0930 and the race at 1030.  The $15 entry fee will pay for a limited edition, one-of-a-kind Centennial 5K t-shirt and lunch after the race.

Event details and schedule

**This race is only available to personnel with current access to the base (i.e. military/ government i.d. card - Active component/ Reserve component/ Government employees and their family members who have access to NBVC Port Hueneme/ and sponsored Reserve member Employers.)

-Be at NOSC Ventura County (951 23rd Ave bldg 1491) by the 'big gold anchor' out front at 0930 for the opening ceremony.  Attire will be running clothes or uniform of the day (if not running).

-parking will be in the very large parking lot behind the NOSC building.

-The run will start at the NOSC (between the humvees) with staggared starts for fast, medium, and slow runners.

-water will be available at the NOSC and throughout the 5k course, but bringing extra water is advised.

-lunch will be served after the run at the NOSC where there will be booths and displays.
