About This Activity

The RunForBurt 5K Run/Walk is in memory of Natchitoches native, Burt Clark, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, Natchitoches Central High School graduate and avid runner who tragically transitioned this life way too soon. Burt was committed to encouraging, inspiring, and motivating everyone he met to lead a healthier lifestyle through fitness.  He didn't just encourage, Burt competed in numerous events annually, including the Atlanta Peachtree Road Race, Calloway Gardens Triathlon/Duathlon and Omega Psi Phi- Beta Lambda Lambda's 5k/10k.  Burt believed everyone should "get up and move" regardless of age, gender, physical ability, or socioeconomic standing.  The Burt Clark Foundation will continue his passion for not only inspiring and motivating a healthier lifestyle, it will also provide educational scholarships to two graduating seniors; a Natchitoches Central High School graduating senior that will be attending college after graduation and a high school graduating senior that will be attending Burt's alma mater, Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

This 5K Run/Walk will take place at Northwestern State University’s Collin's Pavilion on October 2, 2021. In person and virtual opportunities will be available for all age groups to include children, youth and adults.  Please visit the RunForBurt5K website for detailed race day information.
