Pricing: 5k $35, (Outer Banks Running Club Members Only $30); Fun Run $5
Beneficiary: This event serves as the primary fundraiser each year for your race organizer, the Outer Banks Running Club. Registration: Online registration will close at noon on Monday 11/25/18 (or sooner if race capacity is reached). Walk-up registration may be available during packet pick-up if the event is not full, but your best is to register online now! 5k participants registered before Midnight - 12:00 AM on Monday 11/11/19 will receive a race shirt (long-sleeve cotton, Unisex sizes Youth M, L and Adult XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL). We will order extras for those participants who register after the deadline, but your requested size is not guaranteed. There is no race shirt for Fun Run participants. Course Map & Information: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/130811756 A digital race clock will be positioned at the start/finish for you to keep track of your own time (there will be no chip timing). Baby strollers, wagons, jog strollers are allowed (and encouraged for that matter, but for safety’s sake please be sure to position yourself toward the back at the start). We’re sorry, but bikes, scooters, skateboards, motorized vehicles, “wheelie shoes”, and dogs are not permitted. The Fun Run will start at approximately 9:00 am and is 9/10 of a mile in length.
On-course Hydration & Medical Services: Water station near mid-point of the course. Dare County EMS will be on-call.
Packet pick-up will be held Wednesday 11/27/19 from 4:00 pm -7:00 pm at The Studio, Outer Banks, 3022 S Croatan Hwy #22, Nags Head, NC 27959, Pirates Quay Shopping Center (The studio is located in the back right corner of the shopping left). Race Day packet pick-up will also be available from 7:00-7:45 am on-site near Outer Banks Furniture. At 7:30 am we will be handing out bibs only with shirts available for pickup after the race. Make sure that you are in line early because last year we started the race late and all the volunteers working packet pickup were unable to participate in the race, so even if you are in line before 7:30, we will only be handing out bibs starting at 7:30...
$$$$ REFUND $$$ If you pickup a 5k bib on Wednesday evening, you will get a FIVE dollar bill for every 5k bib picked up.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, please help us help our community members in need - your donations of canned goods and non-perishable food items will be collected and delivered to our local food pantry, thank you!
Post-race Hospitality: Light breakfast for registered participants only. No alcohol is permitted.
Parking: Outer Banks Mall, 5000 S. Croatan Highway, Nags Head (Milepost 14.5 on 158). No parking is allowed at the Food Lion (they will be open) or the Outback Steakhouse.
Refunds/Transfers/Inclement Weather: This is a fundraising event and there will be no refunds or transfers. The race will be held rain or shine, but may be delayed or cancelled in the event of unsafe weather conditions (ex. lightning).
