About This Activity

EVENT:  The MJMS PTO is excited to host the 3rd Annual Mount Juliet Middle School 5K and Fun Run/Walk once again at Charlie Daniels Park with the exciting addition of chip timers! This is the largest PTO Fund Raiser for Mount Juliet Middle School. With the funds raised, the PTO is able to purchase many classroom items for teachers and staff, so please sign up and invite all your friends and family to participate in supporting our wonderful school.      

CHIP TIMING: This year A Matter of Timing chips will be provided for all 5k registrants. “A Matter of Timing uses the Bib Tag System from MyLaps (formerly AMB-IT and Championchip).This system uses disposable timing chips (RFID tags) which are attached to the participants race bib/number.The system combines the ease and accuracy of chip timing with the advantage of the chips being disposable.So you get accurate, fast race results without having to have a crew of volunteers at the finish line to collect timing chips.” Participants will be able to get their results the day of the race. The addition of chip timing will insure the most accurate times for each participant and allow us to take the guesswork out of close races, so we are very excited about this! Tips to have your time accurately recorded:

  • Race bib is clearly visible on the front of the torso
  • Race bib is unaltered and unmodified (Do not fold or wrinkle)
  • Race bib is pinned in all four corners
  • Race bib is not covered (jackets, runner belts, water bottles, etc.)


AWARDS: All registered participants of both the Fun Run/Walk and 5k will receive a race t-shirt and a medal. (Must be registered by April 1st to be guaranteed a T-shirt and Medal.)  The top male and female 5k finishers will receive a trophy and the top 3 male and female in each age category will receive a special medal. 

Awards will be given to the 1st Place Male and 1st Place Female in the Fun Run. 

GHOST RUNNER:  If running is not your thing or you can’t make the race, register as a Ghost Runner for only $10 and receive a race t-shirt without having to break a sweat! 

EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT BEFORE 3/16:   Register before March 16th for the early bird rates of $15 for the Fun Run/Walk and $25 for the 5K. On March 16th these will go up to $20 for the Fun Run/Walk and $30 for the 5K.  

PACKET PICK UP:   Participants may pick up their packets (t-shirt, bibs and other information) on Friday, April 11th, from 2:30 - 7:00 p.m. in the cafeteria at MJMS. If you cannot get your packet at this time, we will have them at the On-Site registration on Race Day, but please arrive by 7:15. If registering the day of, arrive even earlier.  Note: Please do not lose your packet before the race as it does include your chip timer!

Event schedule and times

1 Mile Fun Run/Walk will start promptly at 8:00 a.m.

5K will start at 8:30 a.m.

All participants should be at Charlie Daniels Park no later than 7:45. We suggest getting there early so you can park in the park. If you are registering that morning, please come even earlier. You will not be able to enter the park in your vehicle after 7:45, so consider parking at the Middle School and walking over.
