About This Activity
The 2nd annual Festival of HOPE Superhero 5K is a fairly easy course as runners/walkers come dressed as their favorite Superhero. Prizes are awarded to the best costumes and the top 3 male and female runners with the fastest time. Come enjoy the fun. Your registration entitles you to a BBQ meal, free t-shirt and great music beginning at 11 am.
Who is Trinity/HOPE?
The Trinity/HOPE ministry started in 1999 by feeding one school in Haiti with 42 children. As of July, 2014 we feed over 17,680 meals each school day, in 89 schools spread across the country. The meals provided have been reviewed and approved by the Vanderbilt University Nutrition Department. Each school day, the children receive a nutritious bowl of rice and beans or corn and beans purchased from the Haitian community. This is an efficient program where 97 cents of every dollar goes to feeding the children but we continue looking for ways to make it better seeking God’s guidance.
ALL schools we feed are Christian schools, teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ every day. Trinity/HOPE still has over 6,000 additional children on a waiting list, waiting to be fed. The total cost of each meal (including food, transportation, salaries of Haitian staff, etc.) is approximately $0.26. With over 80% of the Haitian population living below the poverty line, over 50% of the children in Haiti do not have food in the home for a 24-hour period or longer. Your donations that purchase these meals change that

Festival of HOPE is a RAIN OR SHINE event! If local authorities deem weather to be too severe to race, we will try to rescheduled for a later date. No refunds will be given.

You MUST register online by September 13 in order to guarantee yourself an event day t-shirt. We will have extras ordered, but they will be handed out on a first come/first served basis for those who register past the t-shirt deadline. The week prior to race day, an e-mail will be sent out to all pre-registered participants detailing event day specifics (such as parking, registration, race day schedule, etc....)
You may park INSIDE the park (at the back) if you arrive before 9:30 AM and there are spots available. Otherwise, parking will be available at Mt. Juliet Middle School.
Check-In/Walk-up Registration will be on event day from 9-10 AM at the Pavilion closest to the tennis courts. All 5K participants registered by Sept. 13 will receive their shirts pre-race. Leftover shirts (for those registered online after Sept. 13 and walk-up registrants) will be distributed on a first come/first served basis after the 5K.
