About This Activity

2nd Annual Thundering Hooves Fall Classic benefiting Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue takes place on the rolling hills of Western Howard County. With the course located directly on the Rescue's property, enables participants to meet and greet the horses both before and after the race. The course winds you around the complete farm which should be splashed in spectacular fall colors. This years race is a themed race for Halloween and costume is optional. Awards for best Adult and Kids costume will be awarded.

Event details and schedule

The 2nd Annual Fall Classic will be held on October 24th 2015

This year is a themed race for Halloween and we encourage participants to have fun with it and wear a costume. It  is not required but encouraged.

Start time will be 4 pm with packet pick up open at 3 pm. There will be no early packet pick up and the race will be rain or shine.

Our course is a trail run and will wind along the outer perimeters of the farm, through the woods and along the pastures. The course is not stroller friendly, but has been completed with a sports stroller.    Walkers are Welcome.

Please NO PETS the day of the race.

Come Meet and Greet the Rescue's horses that you will be helping to feed this winter with your participation. You may bring apples or carrots to donate to the rescue but due to special feeding requirements of our horses, We ask you, NOT TO FEED the horses any treats.

Please plan to stick around after the race, as awards will be given in each age class as well as the awards for the best Adult and Kids costume.

Can't make the race? You can still help and BE A VIRTUAL RUNNER !!

Virtual Runners will have their shirts mailed to them after the race.
