About This Activity

Missouri City Parks & Recreation is proud to benefit The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center with our second annual 5K, The Superhero Run! The 5K course will begin on Independence Boulevard near Independence Park and continue down to Revolution Way where runners will turn around and finish the race back at Independence Park! The event will include a costume contest, an awesome post-race party featuring breakfast, and plenty of entertainment for the kids! Costumes are a must for this themed run, so pull out your capes, masks, and superhero swag to support a great cause!

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston is one of the world's most respected lefts focused on cancer patient care, research, education and prevention. It was named the nation's No. 1 hospital for cancer care in U.S. News & World Report’s 2015 rankings. It is one of only 45 comprehensive cancer lefts designated by the National Cancer Institute. Since 1944, more than 1 million patients have sought out MD Anderson’s expertise. The institution pioneered a multidisciplinary approach to research-driven care. MD Anderson invests more than $500 million a year in research.

We are encouraging every Superhero Run participant to consider donating to the fight against cancer. The funds we raise will directly benefit cancer research and their regional care lefts.

Participants can donate in a few ways:

1. Donate during the registration process

2. Visit our fundraising page:

3. Share our fundraising page with family and friends!
