About This Activity
The certified course runs through parks and residential Golden Valley. Start and finish in Brookview Park/Golf Course. Water stops are provided.Moisture wick t-shirt, bib and chip timing included with race fee. Post race complimentary snacks and chair massages provided. Commemorative medallions are given to first place male and female runners in each age category (under 19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+) for both the 5K and 10K Runs.
Largest fundraising event for the Golden Valley Human Services Fund. 100% of proceeds are allocated to agencies that assist residents in need. In 2015, $44,000 was allocated to: Crisis Connection, Dinner At Your Door, PRISM, Second Harvest Heartland, Senior Community Services, Sojourner Project, Tree House, The Bridge for Youth and the YMCA-New Hope.
Event details and schedule
As a pre-registered runner you can avoid the Saturday rush by picking up your T-shirt, race number and chip at Brookview Community Center, 200 Brookview Parkway S, on Thursday, April 14 from 1-7 PM or Friday, April 15 from 9 AM-3 PM. If you choose not to pick up these items in advance you can do so on race day beginning at 7 AM.
Limited parking is available at Brookview Park. The Police Department would like to remind you that if you park in the parking lots at Brookview, cars will not be allowed to leave until roads are re-opened after the event. Also, please be aware that roads used for the race/walk are not closed and local traffic may be allowed use of the roads during the event.

Allow enough time to park and get to the start line. The routes can be found on the City of Golden Valley web site, www.goldenvalleymn.gov/events/runthevalley Click on “Register now for Run the Valley”, find maps, and click on the 5K or 10K map.
After the race join us for snacks and free chair massages in the Community Center. If you have any questions feel free to call us at 763-512-2345, Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Race results will be posted on www.onlineraceresults.com Sunday and the city website www.goldenvalleymn.gov on Monday afternoon.
