About This Activity
POOL LOCATION NOTES:
- Mondays (in Jan, March and April) meet at Noyes Pool (8235 W Good Hope Rd, Milwaukee, WI).
- Mondays (in Feb) and all Wednesdays, Fridays meet at Greenfield High School (4800 South 60th St, Greenfield, WI).
Mondays In February will move to Greenfield HS due to maintenance at Noyes Pool. We will run a special 4-week session with two options to keep you motivated: (1) Endurance challenge group or (2) Swim meet skills group. Swimmers in both groups will receive a special t-shirt for their extra effort!
Practices are supervised by an appropriate number of on-deck Tri Faster swim coaches for safety and to provide individual feedback. You will enjoy challenging workouts, stroke feedback from the coaches, and wonderful indoor pools that will allow you to train with others that are your speed.
Beginner Group (Fri - see below): Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards or meters non-stop freestyle with an ability to swim with your face in the water and utilize rotary breathing (taking a breath to the side). If you can swim 4 lengths of the pool in 2 minutes or faster, we ask that you register for one of the above groups as you are too gosh darn fast for this group. Other Groups (Mon/Wed/Fri - see below): Swimmers must be able to swim 100 yards or meters non-stop freestyle with an ability to swim with your face in the water and utilize rotary breathing (taking a breath to the side). Tri Faster is happy to provide private instruction by appointment for athletes who are working towards this prerequisite (as we are hoping to have you in one of our future programs).
MONDAYs 5:45am-7:00am (Endurance Group - all abilities): Endurance- and pulling-based sets are the focus of this practice group.
WEDNESDAYs 5:45am-6:55am (Speed and Pace Group): Speed and pace including some (optional) non-free and IM is the focus of this practice group.
FRIDAYs 5:45am-6:55am (Beginner Group): Our Beginner group is perfect for beginner to intermediate swimmers who have spent little to no time training in a formal swimming group. The program offers the perfect blend of stroke improvement drills and basic swim sets to simultaneously improve your stroke technique and swimming endurance. Practices are led by a supportive on deck coach who will help you to swim more efficiently. In addition to learning better technique, you will swim short swim sets to transition from technique learning to true swim training. Freestyle (front crawl) will be the primary focus of this program, but backstroke and breast stroke will also be covered.
FRIDAYs 5:45am-6:55am (Mixed Set Group): A mixed bag of endurance, pace and speed work, and more including kick sets and (optional) non-free.
- Tri Faster is happy to provide private instruction by appointment for athletes who are working towards any prerequisite.
- Participants under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian available to sign waiver at check-in.
