About This Activity
Celebrate the Center’s 530+ acres of rustic woodland beauty at the Tröegs Rugged Trail Run for Conservation! The Center is thrilled to partner with Tröegs Brewing Company for this exciting event! All proceeds from this year's event will benefit the Ned Smith Center for Nature and Art. Proceeds will directly benefit the enhancement of wildlife habitat on our 530+ acres, maintaining our 12.5 mile trail system (including the scenic bridge overlooking the Wiconisco Creek) AND to help support funding for our outdoor nature play area, opening this spring!
Please note: Event is limited to the first 275 registrants.
Fee: Pre-registration is $40 for ages 13+ (12 and under are $10)
This race is open to all ages and CASH prizes will be given to the top male and female runners in each age group, as well as overall male and female of each trail.
Registration: Opens at 4:00 pm
(price will be $45 on race day for 13+ and $15 for 12 and under; t-shirts only included while supplies last)
Race Time: 5:00 pm Post-Race Party: Begins at 5:30 pm, ending at 10:00 pm!
TWO routes will be available:
The HopBack Trail: This route is walker-friendly and is a great option for beginning and intermediate trail runners.
The Rugged Trail: This route features more challenging elevations and terrain, perfect for those who are looking for a more “rugged” trail experience.
Course changes NEED to be made by September 4th. NO day of switches.
Stick around after the race for a post-race party, featuring live music on the DeSoto Amphitheater stage! Food will be available for purchase. Participants ages 21 and over can enjoy a sample of fresh, handcrafted beer from Hershey, PA’s Tröegs Brewing Company.
ALL race participants will receive: A FREE pour of Tröegs beer (for participants age 21+) in a Ned Smith Center souvenir mug, A FREE slice of pizza from DoughBoys Halifax Free admission to the Ned Smith Center on race day.
