About This Activity

The overall goal of the Habitat’s Heroes 5K is to engage Milledgeville area businesses and organizations in a friendly city and county-wide competition, encourage community involvement in fun health and wellness activities, and provide support for our local Milledgeville-Baldwin County Habitat for Humanity. We plan to make this an annual event that will continue to grow and add new ways to engage the community. Our event will feature a 5K Walk / Run & Fun-Run on Saturday, April 25 at the Greenway.

Habitat for Humanity Milledgeville-Baldwin County is an ecumenical, nonprofit Christian ministry dedicated to the elimination of substandard housing. Habitat MBC provides opportunities for families by partnering with them to build decent, affordable housing and improving the quality of life of Habitat's partner families, the neighborhoods in which they live and the community as a whole. Each partner family purchases their home with an interest-free 20-year mortgage and performs at least 300 hours of sweat equity labor on their homes and other homes being constructed.

If you have a family of four or more, please call us.

Event details and schedule

The Fun Run will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, followed by the 5K at 9:30 a.m. This event is open to all ages groups, and pets are welcome, just not on the race path. The race will begin and end on the paved path at the Greenway.

Parking will be in the Greenway parking lot next to the race site. Overflow parking is near GMC.
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the race time for processing and instructions to run the race.
Please bring a print out of your race registration just to clarify your race sign-up.
Wear running shoes and your best hero costume that still allows you to run comfortably. If you have any medical conditions that might affect your run, please let a race supervisor know ahead of time.
At the event, there will be a wall for you to honor your hero. Whoever you're running for, we want to know. Place a photo of your hero or just write his/her name on the wall.
Timing will be provided by High Performance Timing, and the bibs will have chips in them to record your time as you cross the finish line.
