About This Activity

M3RC's Octoberfest Beer Run 5k + 2 pts is a running event like no other.  For  the past 4 years this local fund raiser for the MidMichigan Multisport Racing Club has packed the Midland Brewing Company with hundreds of costume clad runners who know that at this event, its about the fun, not the run.  To place at this event you'll need more than a lightning fast running pace--you'll  also need a belly of steel as our format includes drinking a pint---running 5k----drinking another pint----cross the finish line.   Oh by the way, this event isn't professionally timed and the only time that is important is how long it takes you to finish your drink--and there may be penalties for taking too long, so start training!  Other than that, just plan to dress up in your favorite Halloween costume and we'll all get along just fine.  Prizes and tons of fun for all incuding best costumes and more.

Event details and schedule

Packet pick up and day of registration ($30)  from 2:15-3:15.

Group toast and race start at 3:30 pm.

Out and Back course along the Pere Marquette Rail Trail heading north towards Sanford.  Parking available at Midland Brewing Company and at Trailside Senior Center across the street.  ID required for those planning to drink alcohol along with a seperate $10 to purchase your pre and post event beer (beer is NOT included in your entry fee) paid directly to MBC.  Costume not required but you are not too cool for us and nobody wants to be that guy who doesn't dress up--- so let's just say you must wear one!  Awards for the best costumes!  FUN fund raiser for M3RC which is totally run by volunteers and is 100% meant as a social event---so if you have any complaints, comments on how to improve, or even suggest that we get this event professionally timed, you will thereby be nominating yourself to  personally spend dozens of hours organizing and preparing for this event next year!  Lastly, anyone who asks what their finish is is obligated to buy a round for the entire place.  It's about the fun, not the run.  See you there!
