COVID-19 Planning and preparation statement: We at SMHS understand and share the concern of the running public regarding the current COVID-19 outbreak and how it may affect our running events. We are committed to maintaining the safety of our participants, volunteers and spectators. In doing so, we will be monitoring the situation as it develops, following the guidance of CDC and State and Local Health Departments. We do not anticipate the cancellation of either the Makin’ Hay 10K or the Spook Hill Cider & Wine 4-Mile Run at this time, but given the dynamic nature of the outbreak and its reach, we will be monitoring the situation closely and will heed governmental guidance on the matter. How do we plan on minimizing any risk of transmission? At this time, we have begun mapping out extra sanitation strategies so that we can provide the best and safest race environment possible. How can you reduce the risk of exposure or transmission? Follow the protocols put forth via the CDC’s website and practice common sense if you’re not feeling well. If there are any updates or changes, we will swiftly transmit these to all of our registered participants.
