About This Activity
The 2nd Annual Jackson County 4-H Clover Chase! We will be celebrating 4-H, the 4-H Clubs of Jackson County and health and fitness. Please come join us for the event which will have something for the whole family. Please see the about page for all the information you need to participate and register. This fundraising event will benefit all participating Jackson County 4-H Clubs.

2nd Annual Jackson County 4-H Clover Chase Saturday, August 22, 2015 The running events will take place at Lincoln Elementary School in Merrillan. Start & Finish Location Start line - Lincoln Elementary School, Merrillan Finish line - Lincoln Elementary School, Merrillan Date: Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 7:00 AM Course The course will go out of Merrillan to Gaylord Road, onto Bachelors Avenue and run towards County Road K. The course is relatively flat with some rolling very small inclines. Half is paved and half is gravel. The Half Marathon will go all the way to the stop sign at County Road K and back to the elementary school. The 5K will have a turnaround point on Gaylord Road, the 3 mile fun run/walk will go around in town and slightly onto Hardwood Road and kids race will be in the parking lot. There will be mile markers along the way. The course will close at 11 a.m. Entry Fees Prices for the races are as follows: Half Marathon - $50 5K race - $25 3 mile fun run/walk - $20 Kids 1/2 mile race - $12 EARLY BIRD PRICING: Half Marathon - March 22 - June 22 - $40 (after June 22 it will be $50) 5K - March 22 - June 22 - $20 (after June 22 it will be $25 Age Groups: 5K and Half Marathon: 12 & Under; 13-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60+ Kids race age groups: 0-5; 6-9; 10-12
Water Stations There will be water stations located every 2 miles on the side of the road along the Half Marathon/5K course (generously attended to by local 4-H Clubs and other local organizations)
What about strollers? Strollers will ONLY be allowed in the 3 mile fun run/walk.
Are dogs allowed in the races? NO animals of any kind will be allowed in any of the races.
Why participate? In the spirit of celebrating Jackson County, 4-H, family and fitness we are once again hosting the Clover Chase. This will be a great event for the whole family.We are not only celebrating fitness, but also 4-H, which is the nation’s largest youth development and empowerment organization, reaching more than 7 million 4-H youth in urban neighborhoods, suburban schoolyards and rural farming communities. Fueled by university-backed curriculum, 4-H'ers engage in hands-on learning activities in the areas of science, healthy living, and food security.
ALL Half Marathoners will receive a finisher's medal.The top 3 male and female finishers in each age group for the Half Marathon and 5K races will receive a medal and all of the kids in the kids race will receive a ribbon as well as the top 3 finishers in each age group will receive a medal. All participants will receive a t-shirt with their registration. The t-shirts are moisture wicking shirts.
Timing Only the Half Marathon and 5K races will be timed. They will be chip timed.
Parking There will be ample parking at the school and nearby in town.
Race Day Schedule Please try to arrive at least 30 minutes before your race so you can get registered.We will have registration Friday night from 4-7 p.m. at the school as well so you can pick up your bib and bag.
Racing times are: Half Marathon - 7:00 a.m. 5K - 8:00 a.m. 3 mile fun run/walk - 8:05 a.m. 1/2 mile kids race - 9:00 a.m.
Need to carb up the night before? Why not attend the Humbird Honeybees Spaghetti Supper? The Humbird Honeybees 4-H Club will be having a fundraising Spaghetti Supper in Humbird (only 6 miles from the race location) on Friday night.
