About This Activity

This fun-filled event will start with a certified 5K road race/walk and a 1 mile fun walk.  Participants are encouraged to run or walk with their well-conditioned dogs. Registration opens at 7:30 AM and closes at 8:45 AM.  5 K runners will then move to the start line, followed by 5K walkers, and 1 mile fun walkers.  The race starts promptly at 9:00 AM.

Pre-race packet pickup will be held at the RunningCo of Haddonfield, 121 Kings Hwy East, Haddonfield, NJ on Friday, September 8th from 4pm-7pm.

All are welcome to the post race party which will be like no other! Meet Kathy Orr, Weather Anchor, FOX 29 News! There will be food, music including a bagpiper, animal communicator, contests, demonstrations, awards and numerous vendors with unique services and items for purchase.  Join us in showing your patriotism when we honor the Tri-State K-9 Response Team 2017 Hero of the Year, Andrew Einstein!

This past September, Riverton resident Andrew Einstein, a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps., walked 100 miles from the Liberty Bell to the Freedom Tower in Lower Manhattan. He took the “Long Walk” with two fellow Marines and their service dogs, including Einstein’s K-9 Gunner, to honor their fallen brothers, as well as bring awareness to PTSD. Einstein, who is a Westampton Township police officer, suffered a traumatic brain injury from a grenade blast while serving in Afghanistan and received a Purple Heart. Since being home, he has lived with PTSD. The walk may have raised over $11,000 but for Einstein, it was more about showing how those who suffer from PTSD can still be active members of society. He says he is living proof of that, and credits his wife Jill and his service dog for helping him cope with the effects of PTSD. Swag bags and shirts will be available for the first 300 registrants. Shirt sizes range from small to adult 2XX. There will be water and light refreshments provided to racers.
